Why Close-Up Magic?
Because close-up magic is, well, magical.
In the course of my work, or whenever anyone finds out what it is I do for a living, I am constantly hearing stories from ordinary people about how close-ups have baffled, amused or astonished them, sometimes many years before; moments that have always stayed with them. This, I believe, is because magic that happens right in your own hands, or, as they used to say, before your very eyes, is a form of entertainment with which we make a remarkable emotional connection. It’s intimate, immediate, and, when done well, unforgettable.
Obviously, you, as the host, have options. There are plenty of bands, cabaret magicians and comedians out there, but nothing, in my experience, breaks the ice, crosses all generation and cultural divides, can be tailored to match the atmosphere of your event and sends your guests away with a genuinely unforgettable experience like close-up magic.
