All About Me and What I Do
Hello. My name, as we say at Magicians Anonymous, is Mick Craig, and I’m a magician. Actually, I’m an award-winning* close up performer who has entertained The Prince Of Wales, The Duke Of Devonshire and many other pubs in the Balham area. I can entertain you too.
So what, you ask, can I do for you? Well; let me tell you first what I don’t do. No kid’s magic. Children enjoy a lot of my stuff, but I’m not Uncle Mickey the magical clown. No cups and balls, no linking rings, No sponge balls and definitely no wearing lots of hair gel and striking bizarre poses next to large cabinets to the sound of 80s power ballads.
What I do do** is fast moving, modern close up with cards and coins as well as improvised effects with borrowed objects (pens, jewellery, cigarettes etc) presented in a witty and intelligent way, with content and style tailored to your gathering, whether that’s a wedding, masonic, barmitzfah, business event, dinner party or any other sort of social occasion.
Based in the Thames Valley, and working mainly there and in London, I will travel anywhere to perform.
My performance style is carefully calculated not to embarrass your guests or make them uncomfortable, and I never forget that the main event is your function, not my show. The idea is to make your occasion unforgettable, but for the right reasons, not because the magician, as so many do, thought that the reason people came to your wedding was to see him. My job is to amaze your guests or clients, and make you look like a great host
